My name is Jose Roque, a recent Spring 2017 graduate in Computer Engineering
from The University of Texas at Arlington.
I have learned a multitude of technologies and best practices from past
industry experience, self-teaching, and throughout my schooling but also look forward to the plenty of learning that is be done.
As a firm believer in life-long learning, I take every opportunity as a learning experience and enjoy sharing my knowledge such
as having taught numerous high school kids about engineering and helping in the personal and professional development of others.
On top of what is mentioned above, I have some industry experience designing
and building systems at scale as well as working around the needs of the end user
having built many tools to improve work efficiency and improve the user experience.
Along with technical skills, I also see the importance in people skills for they are needed to clearly express ideas,
engage with peers with both technical and non-technical backgrounds,
and participate in meaningful discussion which any company stands to benefit from as it seeks to innovate.
I have had the good fortune in exercising these skills having led teams in the development of software and to reach common goals.
In summary I enjoy solving interesting challenging problems, software, building things, and helping others.
